Foursprung: Developing tomorrow's safety systems today

Jaguar XK
Ford is already developing tomorrow's safety systems today, just like for the Jaguar XK which uses forward sensors to scan the road ahead 10 times a second and warn of a potential collision.
The challenge is to devise systems that do the job without diminishing the driver's sense of control over the vehicle – the "good old-fashioned enjoyment of driving".

Volvo safety, strategy and requirements manager Jan Ivarsson said: "Our thinking at Volvo is about focusing on natural human abilities and evolving solutions not only to enhance safety but also to ensure drivers can enjoy their motoring experience

"Our challenge is to deliver software and hardware approaches that serve as a sympathetic 'co-driver'."
