Adaptive light: Will be seen on future Lincolns!

Ford Lincoln LED
Ford announced to introduce a new Adaptive Front Lighting (AFS) system on several vehicles in the market:

The AFS system is the company's first in the United States. Several foreign brands, including BMW and Lexus, already offer adaptive headlamps on production models sold here.

Ford's system, which will make its debut on several future Lincoln models, is different in that it has no moving parts. A halogen projector provides the main beam, with a secondary row of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that switches on sequentially when the vehicle is cornering. The LEDs light up at a rate and intensity determined by the degree and speed of the turn and switch off when the road straightens out.

What this means to you: High-tech LEDs may provide a better solution in Ford's new adaptive headlamps.
