Foursprung: Video rear view mirror

Video Mirror
A new kind of parking aid comes from Magna Donnelly. The VideoMirror gives you an extra eye when backing up.

How often have you backed up your car and wondered if there was something in your blind spot? VideoMirror reduces dangerous blind spots when parking, backing up or hitching trailers to improve safety.

It conceals a 3.5" full-color display that gets its picture from a tiny camera mounted behind the vehicle. When you shift into reverse, the video display automatically deploys from the side of the mirror giving you an image of the area behind your vehicle both day and night.

According to recent reports, there have been a significant number of back-over incidents in the U.S. including those involving small children in the last five years. With the growing number of trucks, SUVs and minivans on the roads and in driveways today, VideoMirror can add another layer of protection.

No comment on the award they were selected of winning: "2006 Technology is a Girl’s Best Friend (TechGirl)" Diamond Product Showcase in the mobile/automotive electronics category by the Consumer Electronics Association in conjunction with the International Consumer Electronics Show. Think about it but we do not support any prejudices against wowen's ability for parking a car...
