iPod: Interfaces in 73 million cars by 2011

Volvo iPod integration
Telematics Research Group (TRG) predicted that auto makers and 3rd party suppliers will be faced to a fast growing demand for integration kits for mobile audio devices just like the popular iPod.

Apple's beautiful mobile audio player will be sold 34 million times by the end of 2005 and is driving a new trend in auto design - OEM-supplied iPod adapters and auxiliary input jacks.

We also reported several times on different ways of integrating your iPod or other mobile audio devices to your car (see here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here) and TRG predicts that in 2011 will have 73 million cars iPod integration and 150 million auxiliary input. Today there are 900,000 car with iPod integration, 6 million have an auxiliary input.
