Audi: Q7 to get Lane Warning System

Audi Q7
A forum member of the great Fourtitude site reported on coming features for Audi's great SUV.

I'm in Montreal for product launches of several cars, including the Q7 3.6. One piece of information from last night's presentation is that the Q7 will get a lane departure warning system as optional equipment during calendar year 2007.
The warning will be a vibrating of the steering wheel when the car crosses a solid white line found on the side of most paved roads.

I recently tested a similar system at a demonstration by OEM suppliers to Washington D.C. lawmakers. If it's the same system, which I suspect it is after trading notes with Audi product planners, then the vibration is actually pretty convincing at mimicking the "rumble strip" pavement found on the side of some lanes throughout the country. In as much, the reaction to the vibration is basically the same.
