Audi TT: The auto-dimming rear view mirror

The new Audi TT is not only the most beautiful car in the world. It has some gadgety innovations as well - like the Gentex Automatic-Dimming Rearview Mirror.

This unique mirror system will automatically darken all three rearview mirrors when responding to the headlamp glare of vehicles approaching from the rear. The darkening is relative to the brightness of the vehicle behind, making driving at night a much safer experience. In addition, you also get a video display that is located within the Automatic-Dimming Rearview Mirror, showing what is behind the vehicle the moment your gear is shifted into reverse to avoid untoward accidents. There is no word on pricing at the moment.
